Yesterday I payed my last medical bill off, two months early. I have been imagining this day for a very long time. I have been paying on medical debt for the last 4 years. This was one of my 2012 goals. It feels so good friends. This frees up $300 a month that will go directly to my student loan starting next month. This loan at its pace currently wouldn't be payed off until 2019. Adding the additional $300 a month to my current payment along with my extra paycheck in July & December I will have this loan payed off in December 2012!

I never imagined my life debt free. I always thought I would be making payments for the rest of my life. Im so thankful for my dear friends who provided the Dave Ramsey finanical peace class kit to me and Im thankful to my FPU teacher at church. I am so blessed.

If you feel like you are in too deep to ever have financial freedom, I understand. I felt the same way too. I left the first class crying to my sister on the phone. After a deep breath and a lot of prayers I went to the 2nd class and continued to go. I opened my Etsy shop to make a little extra money to add to the budget. Dave Ramsey is very funny, helpful and knowlegeable. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

What a busy weekend!

Friday I had dinner down on the farm (bob evans) &

finished Lauras baby shower present a fabric banner for baby Tessas room.

Saturday morning was Lauras baby shower.

Laura is one of my oldest friends I have known her since junior high! I had a great time catching up with old friends & enjoying great food. I cant wait to meet Laura & Pauls bundle of joy!

After a well deserved nap.

We headed to Abbys for a 31st bday party. Abby was in a car accident last month & is on crutches for 8 weeks. She could use your prayers for healing of her hip!

Her party was a great time. Plenty of people, food & laughs!

Sunday I overslept and missed church. But made sure to make a very productive rest of the day! I organized my etsy items. And photographed a few of the items .

Addressed 84 bridal shower invitations for Amandas upcoming bridal shower.

Thanks to Candis for creating beautiful invites!

Watched the dogs nap in the sun.

finished the evening with the 3rd week of dog training.

Needless to stay with such a busy weekend 0 outfit photos were taken. Hopefully I find some content for the blog this week!

So you may remember I posted about my 2012 goals. One of them was to work out once a week. Which I have done every week! Thankfully my boyfriend has a gym in his basement because I look like a fool working out. He says everyone does but I think hes just being nice. I have been wearing a older pair of sweat pants that don't fit right and a tshirt. And to top it off one of my regular bras and the straps keep falling down my arm. So it was time to invest into some new workout clothes maybe that will make me want to work out twice a week? Probably not. So I'm going to share a few photos of my current outfit.

We price shopped (thank you Dave Ramsey) at Dicks, Target & TjMaxx. Can you belive Dicks & Target wanted $30 for a padded sports bra? Thats crazy. I found one at TjMaxx for $13! We had a coupon for 30% off everything at kohls. So I did some online shopping and picked up 2 pairs of shorts & a tank.

Hopefully I feel more confident about myself in these new clothes. Ill make sure to report back in my new clothes when they arrive!

My Valentines date included a yummy meal at Ruby Tuesdays and clearance shopping at TJ Maxx. Perfect in my book. I found this gem of a dress on the clearance rack for $5! It a great color has great detail and perfect for work and church! I was so excited about this dress I wore it on Sunday to church.

I also got a very pretty pearl necklace & a motorcycle helmet from my Valentine. Yep Ill be a very happy passenger this summer with my motorcycle helmet. Now I just need to find some tips on how to keep my hair pretty. How was your Valentines Day?

National Childrens Dental Health Month

This month is National Children's Dental Health Month. Say that 10 times fast! Most of you know by now that my 8-5 Monday - Friday I work in the Corporate office of Corner Dental. The best dental office in Toledo! I have worked here for almost 5 years and Oral health is very important to me. That's why I wanted to share a awesome giveaway Corner Dental is hosting on their blog right now! The giveaway is for 3 children's books and a children's sonicare toothbrush. Now you may not have children yourself but I'm sure you know plenty of children that would benefit from this package! Hello dears. I went shopping a few weekends ago for my Etsy shop and left with a few items for myself as well. You saw the cream sweater here & today I'm going to share with you my 2nd favorite thrifted find EVER. My first is the red pleated Sears skirt that was on the Etsy shop for 2 weeks before I decided I couldn't part from it. This is the runner up. I was reminded while shopping that we were there for my etsy shop but honestly somethings I just HAVE to have it in my closet and cant imagine selling. This sweater was on an end cap not in the sweater section hanging by it self.

Isn't this sweater just beautiful? Its over sized at least 40 years old and is full of flair. I held tight to it until we checked out of the store. Its heaven sent and for 3.99 its perfect :)

Need some help on how to wear a clutch? I have so many clutches more than I need but I only use them for weddings and special events. So when I asked Rachel if I could host Wear it Wednesday I knew I wanted to challenge myself to wear the clutch with a casual outfit. I have put together 3 great outfits that are casual but polished. All 3 outfits have plenty of jewelry and sass with one thing in common a great clutch purse!

Pinterest Recipe

When it was time to go grocery shopping last week I went right to my food board on pinterest and picked out 5 recipes to create. The first one I decided to try was the slow cooker sweet potato chili. The recipe comes from the blog can you stay for dinner. You can find the entire recipe along with ingredient's on her blog.

Here's what I changed up instead of purchasing all of those spices I purchased a chili packet that I have used before for my traditional chili. Its $1.99 which saved a lot of $. I used 1/2 of an medium onion and 1/2 a clove of garlic. Only because the crock pot was full. I would suggest adding more brown sugar for a sweeter taste. The directions say on low in the crock pot for 10 hours. Thats way too much time so I did 2 hours on high and then 2 hours on low, stirring often. It turned out great! I added shredded cheese on top with bread & butter and it was perfect! Have you created a pinterest recipe lately?

Just a little update for you on our bridesmaid's meeting this month. We completed the 2 crafts and had a good time!

Robe Fabric Banner. I'm thinking about selling smaller versions of these on my etsy shop. What do you think?

We spray painted all of our saved glass jars, bottles & such and spray painted them grey, ivory & pink.

I wish I could DIY all day long. Its too much fun!

In other news my work is having a spirit week this week. I picked the themes and I will be posting my favorite photos from the week in lieu of my traditional outfit posts.

A few things I need to say before we move on to the photos. My hair & skin are so dry right now. My hair is also getting that side really thick poof that needs to be thinned out desperately. I'm also pasty Casper white and mostly dislike it. Thankfully I have a hair appointment in two weeks. But the blinding Casper white I will be stuck with until spring arrives.

Thankfully I have talked my Mom, Amanda & Abby into modeling for me in a few weeks. I promised pizza & dessert. Pretty good deal I say :) I currently have almost 35 pieces that needs to be modeled & photos taken, and I cant wait to add them to the shop. I wore a pretty similar outfit last month but this time swapped the flats and skinny jeans for heels & wide legs. Toledo was hit with 4 inches of snow on Friday night and it was very cold over the weekend. Yesterday we hit a high of 45. Gotta love that Ohio weather.

Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about that steal of a skirt from The Limited?!! I picked it up for $9 and I have some photos to share with you! It was really really bright out this day so the photos are black & white.

The tank is black with silver stripes and the black sweater has silver buttons that made a perfect pair with the beautiful blue skirt! Isn't the background beautiful? I was too chicken to actually go walk on the dock with my 4 inch heels but maybe next time! I hope you have a happy Tuesday!

Its been brrrrr brrrr brrrrrr here. Snow and wind and more snow and I don't want to take my jacket off for outfit photos. This weather makes me want to keep my butt on the couch all weekend long. Thankfully plans I had, so I left the house at least once.

Kept the scarf on.

Got brave and took it off, but kept it close.

At this point a husband and wife were honking and waving at me. :)

& I get to put my coat back on very soon look!

I'm Alison from OhMyVera! I am really excited to be guest blogging today on Free to be Stacia Lee! My blog OhMyVera! is all about Vera Bradley. I started writing the blog to share my love of Vera Bradley with my family and friends, but it has turned into something much bigger than I ever imagined. For those of you who aren't familiar, Vera Bradley makes cotton quilted bags and accessories. I love them because they have fun bright colors and patterns and have tons of pockets to help keep me organized.
Today I thought that I would share with you 5 of my favorite Vera Bradley items! In no particular order they are the Curling Iron Cover, Hipster, Vera, Turn Lock Wallet, and Ditty Bag.
Here is a photo of me with all of my favorites.

Curling Iron Cover: My very first piece of Vera was a Curling Iron Cover. I went to buy my mom a bag and decided that I wanted to get something for myself, so I bought a Curling Iron Cover in Sherbet. I still have the same one! This is a great piece because you can put your hot curling iron or straightener away without having to wait for it to cool off. It comes in really handy while traveling.

Vera: The Vera tote is a great tote and has been a part of the Vera Bradley collection from the start. It has six slip in pockets on the inside as well as two on the outside (one zips) plus a lobster claw hook for your keys. This is great for toting all sorts of things around and always comes in handy. I always take it with me when I go scrapbooking because it will hold two of my 12x12 albums.

Hipster: The Hipster is a great purse and one that Vera Bradley has redesigned a few times. I have a couple of them and think that they are great for when you are going to be out and about and don't want to have to worry about your purse staying on your shoulder. I usually take a Hipster with me when I go on vacation.

Turn Lock Wallet: This wallet is my all time favorite wallet! Some of the wallets Vera Bradley makes are on the small size for me, but this one is perfect. One side has a turn lock...that is the side that holds my ID, credit card, medical card, etc. The other side zips around and that is where I hold my money, receipts, pocket calendar and there are even more card slots for my rewards cards (grocery store, etc). On the back of the zipper side is a small zipper compartment for coins. I have used the same one for years now and I will be sad when I have to replace it with a new color.

Ditty Bag: This bag has so many uses. It is a drawstring bag that is lined on the inside with plastic. Another travel essential! I have used it to pack socks and underwear, as a dirty clothes bag, swimsuits (dry or wet), to hold misc items I don't want floating around my suitcase (I took a bunch of random things to my sister on my last trip and used a Ditty Bag to keep them all together) or you can use it as a lunch bag. That is just the beginning of the list, everyone who has one seems to use it for something different. I have 3 of them and use them all pretty often. Right now I have one in my gym bag holding my shoes! One thing that makes this bag different from the others is that it isn't quilted, so if quilted bags aren't your thing, you still could use one of these!

pattern mixing

Have you tried pattern mixing yet? I have but since looking back at it I didn't care for the outfit so much. I think the results were much better the 2nd time around. I paired my printed skirt with striped navy top and was pretty impressed! (I said I was going to get over that jeans/sweater phase, lets see if it sticks!)

A few months ago I posted about my friend Amanda asking me to be her MOH. Right away I started making lists and pinning items on Amanda's own board on pinterest. I'm a big planner and was excited to help Amanda plan her big day.

Then I started organizing monthly bridesmaids nights. I think the bridesmaids thought I was crazy. Which I admit 6 months before the wedding having a meeting seems a bit much. But I hate waiting until last minute to get things done. So I scheduled 4 monthly meetings December-March and put an agenda with each one.

Lady lee made tons of these for my 30th birthday and I thought it would a cute way to add some depth to the party. Last month we created almost 20 of these flower poms.

We also started working on this fabric banner below. It was quite a set up. One of the bridesmaids cut each piece of fabric while the rest of us tied them on to a large piece of rope. This project will be finished during this months meeting and I'm looking forward to seeing the final project completed.

This month we will be spray painting all of the glass jars and vases we have been collecting for 2 months. Each bridesmaid is assigned to bring a can of spray paint. I choose pink, green, gray and ivory paint.

What did we do before Internet, blogs & pinterest?

This month I'm making my friends chicken chili recipe for the first time and the bridesmaids are bringing sides. It was a really great time last month and am looking forward to it! It has been very cold. So cold that I'm living in jeans and sweaters. I promise Ill get bored with this phase but give me some time. :) This weekend is my work Holiday party and I'm planning on pulling out my new tan suede shorts that I bought on clearance at TJ Maxx for $3! So those photos will be arriving next week!

Learning how to stay in my budget for personal $ and not buy things just because I like them has taken self control and usually I need a buddy to tell me its not in the budget. One of the ways I stay out of trouble is pinterest. I can just take my laptop into my office and put together outfits with the help of my pins. When you are at the store you feel like you need everything, but in reality you can mix pieces together. Usually my wish list is small and manageable when I have funds for clothing set aside. So here are a few of my newest and favorite pins.

These pins scream to me that I'm craving a neutral palette with a hint of color. I have bold sweaters and plenty of striped shirts in my closet so its time to recreate into my own style and mix up my closet.

While I was going over my budget and action plan today for 2012 I discussed dropping the clothing amount out of the budget for the next 4 months until my medical debt is paid off. I could use that $ to add to my medical payments and get those paid off sooner. Then I started thinking maybe I will complete that 30for30 goal during the next four months. It would be a interesting way to keep things fresh, keep me on target & get me through these awful Ohio winter months.

What do you think? Can I spend $0 on clothing for 4 months? Or maybe just have a budget for thrifted finds, $10 a month second hand would provide fresh things to my closet and would help the budget. All I know is I am becoming a major $ GEEK. I need your input!

New Years Eve was pretty calm and relaxed. I saw this movie (it was great), celebrated this girls birthday & watched this guy on TV until I fell asleep at 11:45. It was perfect. I wore something warm and cozy with some sass.

I found this gem at thelimited.com over 3 months ago and posted about it here. While on lunch break last week with Abby we stopped by The Limited and found this beauty on a final sale for $14.99 with an additional 40% off. It was crazy! I spent $9 on this skirt with the original price of $79. Its a full skirt the blue color is great and I love that is a great addition to my closet for so cheap!

2012 Goals

So I'm sure you have your own list started on paper or just on your mind. I start thinking about the New Year in October. Call me crazy but I'm a huge planner and I think years ahead. I know God is in control and I just need to let go. But its good to have goals to keep yourself on track and pleased when next year this time comes around again. So I'm going to share with you both personal & blog/business goals.
Personal

Pay off medical debt $1266.77
I'm currently paying $300 monthly on medical debt and I'm looking forward to paying it all off and snowballing my debt. Once medical is payed off I will put that extra $300 monthly onto my student loan. Once student loan is payed off I will be completely debt free!

Read my Bible daily
This has always been hard for me. Not because I don't have the time or don't like reading. Its just me being lazy. I could sit on the couch and read a magazine or browse through blogs but open my bible that's another story. I need to focus more of my time on His word.

Workout at least once a week
I grew up in a gym. I hate going to gyms. My Dad owns a gym. I seriously work out twice a year. Thankfully I was blessed with great genes. But I still need to take care of myself. I'm going to start with once a week. Maybe Ill push it two later on.

Have 3 month emergency fund saved
Dave Ramsey talks about how emergencies don't seem much of an emergency if there is a fund to cover them. I hope to have 3 months of living expenses saved by the end of this year.

Be a blessing to others
I serve at church. Now I would like to also get involved in a few organizations that need people who are willing to serve. I have a couple in mind already and hope to get involved soon.

Blog/Business

Attend a blogger meet up
I would love to attend Texas Style Council in March. I would also love to meet Ohio & Michigan bloggers.

Grow Etsy shop
Ideally I would like to add at least 1 new item to my shop weekly. And in return sell at least 1 item weekly. My etsy shop is a great way for me to earn extra $ & have fun while doing it. So I hope to set aside more time to grow stacialeescloset.

Keep on schedule
I like to be organized. My goal is to post on ftbsl at least 4 times a week. The last few months I have exceeded that, but I don't want to get burned out. I would like to make sure I'm posting 2 outfits per week and maybe start a new series for 2012.

30for30
Kendi started it, I would like to accomplish it! 30for30 consists of taking 30 items in your closet and make 30 outfits. Its a great way to be content with what you have & recreate new outfits with the same pieces.

Personal Shopping/Sponsorship
I would like to increase my personal shopping clientele & also hope to have FTBSL sponsored by individuals and/or businesses in 2012.

I'm back with August-December 2011! I have to say it was much easier choosing these photos then the last set. These all seem more like me, are all taken outside & the photos have improved!

August

Taken after church at an abandoned building off the highway. It was thrilling to be at some random building setting up my tripod all by myself and taking outfit photos in front of this beautiful building. I have to say I had some fears of a weirdo seeing me and stopping. Those shoes return again for the last time and I wore that famous blue skirt with a F21 dress tucked in to it. Love this outfit.

This photo shoot is my favorite of the entire year. Thanks to Abby. I remember having a bit of blogger bumming going on. I felt stale and then I received an email invite to the Limited grand opening. I was alive again. When I look at these photos I see real beauty and I think its a very classic outfit

My new do and more tripod usage. I was blonde blonde for so long the change seemed so drastic. I love it still and I feel more mature. I remember putting on these beat up boots and hoping that my Etsy shop would allow some room in my budget for personal $. Thankfully that has happened.

More photos by Abby, these in her backyard. I remember not being able to breathe in this skirt. It was so adorable and I wanted to keep it, but thankfully it sold! Those are my new boots which replaced the ones in the last photo. Thanks to my dear friend Amanda.

Oh how I love this outfit. Comfy and adorable. In the past I wouldn't of posted an outfit like this, but I have learned to share even the most average outfits. This was one of the most popular posts of the year!

Wow this year flew by. I'm so thankful I have a wonderful family who supported me starting this blog and commented on every post when I first started. This blog has definitely increased my self image, my confidence & has allowed me to meet awesome people. I'm going to share my last few tidbits of information that may be helpful to you. Learned lessons that have helped me along the way.

1. Don't worry about how many "followers" you have. I know it can be addicting, but you will have loyal readers who enjoy your content. In the end I would rather slowly gain "success" then be an instant famous blogger. Anything worth keeping takes time. True success doesn't happen overnight.

2. If you need to take a break, inform your readers. There was a good stretch of the summer where I didn't feel like posting, due to lack of inspiration. I didn't say anything with the fear of failure and it took awhile to make it known that I was back to regular posting.

3. Don't beg for followers on facebook, twitter, pinterest and GFC. Its gets so annoying when you follow someone on twitter then they personal message you to follow them on facebook. Readers follow you because they enjoy your content, meaning if they want to folow you they will.

Tomorrow it will all about 2012 goals!

my favorite outfits march-july 2011

Hello! Hope you are having a joyful Wednesday! Today I will be highlighting my favorite outfits from March through July. One photo per month and a quick bit of information. :)

March

I was going through a stage of wearing bows. That stage is currently over and the bows are dusty. I remember my first few outfit photos standing in front of my closet, wondering if I will ever make it to outside photo shoots. And yes that is toothpaste on my shirt.

April

Candis told me to close the closet doors. I listened. The photos improved. The bow appears again. Cute outfit, cheap outfit but I think different shoes would be better.

May

I over wore those shoes. But they lasted me all summer and were $20. Love that skirt. Thrifted & updated and I wore it at least twice a week. I may need to pull it out now and wear with my cognac boots.

June

Simple and hippie chick. I was still hiding in front of that closet 90% of the time.

July

I started taking my own photos outside with my trusty tripod. The problem? You can see the tripods shadow. That top was one of my favorite summer shirts. I remember this day very clearly. I was filling in at one of my works locations and checking in patients at the front desk. A Mom in her early 40's and I started talking, she was so encouraging and I was so thankful for her words.

I hope you enjoyed this walk down memory lane. I promise the photos get better. I have learned so many things in the process. Ill just share a few.

1. Take your photos outside whenever you can. Take off your winter coat in 20 degree weather and show off that outfit. Personally for me inside outfit photos don't do the clothing justice and are boring.

2. Just because something is the new fad, doesn't mean its meant for everyone. Remember at the end of the day you have to be content with yourself and live in your own skin.

3. Don't wear clothes that you normally wouldn't wear in every day situations. I thought that I had to wear something unique or with so many accessories to stand out or be different. I promise its not needed.

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year! I know I did, but was thankful to be back in a routine today and back to work. This week I'm going to be taking us back to some of my favorite outfits of 2011 & my goals for 2012. Also the last installment of what to wear: holiday, which will end with NYE clothing! But before all of that FUN starts, I want to share with you a few of my favorite photos from the time with my family.

My parents, Candis, Drew, West & I spent Friday together at Winter Wonderland & then back to my Dad's for a yummy dinner prepared by my Mom and present opening. Some of Momany side came as well. It was a good time and am thankful for good weather so The Jones were able to come in.

Yes they are in their pajamas. Didn't know there was such a thing as dog pajamas? There definitely is. Josephina would NOT sit on Santa's lap this year. So Mommy had to get in the picture. While Anderson posed as a full time Santa's helper champion. I knew he was thinking oh man my 5th year on Santa's lap, I'm gonna smile real big for Mom. So there you have it. I didn't laugh when the photo printed out, but I'm laughing now.

Have a great day friends. Remember take a deep breath and remind yourself that Christmas is not about stress & gifts. It is about something much more important.

This cute little outfit is what I wore to church last weekend. I have been wearing this chambray shirt over and over again. It was the best $20 investment from Target.

That skirt is one of the gems I picked up at Gap Outlet last month for $7 and it has pockets! Double bonus!

My Special Christmas Tree

Hi everyone my name is Abby and I am one of Stacia's best friends. She has asked me to do a guest post on how I decorate for Christmas. Well I'm still in the process of decorating but I do have my Christmas tree all done, so I'm going to focus on that. My Christmas tree holds a lot of special meaning to me. Most of the ornaments on my tree have either been handed down from family members or given to me every year by someone special in my life.

Every Christmas since I was a baby my Nana Titmuss has made me an ornament out of needle point for me. These ornaments are so very special to me because they are something that I will always look back on over the years and know that they were made with love. Here is a picture of some of the ornaments that she has done. The frog one is probably my most favorite because I have been collecting frogs for many many years.

My husband Brandon and I started a tradition 8 years ago when we first started dating to get each other an ornament every Christmas. We have kept this tradition going and I always look forward to see what ornament he gets me. Here is a picture of two of my favorite ornaments that he has gotten for me over the last few years.

Over the weekend I went to the Wolcott house for a Christmas tour. I haven't been there since I was a child and honestly was pleasantly surprised and had quite the history lesson. So thanks to Groupon for making that happen! I thought the trains in the backyard of the Wolcott house would be a perfect photo op! If I look cold I was cold! It was 30 degrees out!

And yes the boots finally came in! I love them! I haven't worn any other shoes since they arrived!

Two weeks ago it was Holiday girls night out & last week it was Holiday work party! This week it is the Holiday family gathering. My family has the plans already ironed out, and we are always casual in our attire. You may have a more formal gathering to go to. I picked pieces with a quick swap can be changed from one setting to another.

big style tiny apartment: office

Lets move on to my office shall we? This is actually the master bedroom that I decided to make the office instead. Why you ask? Because it has a slider door and balcony, not my ideal choice to sleep in every night. So because my bedroom is so small you will see my dresser in this room and I use it for storage as well.

(excuse the poor evening lighting)

The desk and chair are both thrifted for a total price of $20. That is a vintage tablecloth on the desk.

My shoe rack, vintage stool and dresser. Behind that curtain is storage space.

Ikea bookcase full of books, magazines, trinkets and jewelry.

I used clipboards and a old picture frame for the back wall so I can continually change out the photos to make it new. You may remember the look of this room from my dressing room post 6 months back. Ill probably do a update closet post for fall/winter! The final post of big style tiny apartment will be next Monday ending it with a bathroom post. Swig & Paul Fritsch

You probably have noticed that I love supporting local. Swig is one of my favorite local restaurants. If you are from Columbus its very similar to Dirty Franks. Swig makes all of their brats & dogs fresh daily in the restaurant. They have local musicians come and perform and the food & root beer on tap is amazing. I always order the Memphis dog with french fries. The Memphis has BBQ pork and pickled onions and it is yummy. My girlfriend Laura, her husband sings there often and I love listening to him sing! big style tiny apartment: bedroom

So I promised a few weeks ago that I would show you my teeny tiny apartment. Its finally here don't blink you may miss it! :)

So there is my tiny blue bedroom! Most of the decor was either a present, hand me down or thrifted. The curtains were made by my Mom and are swiss dot. I love the tiny lamp on the bed side table I think it was $12 from Ikea! The jewelry box is a gift from my sister she picked up in Europe. I like the bedding simple because the room is so small. Most of the bedding is clearance items from Target!

Fashionable Friend: Blair Part 2

Part 2

Since I am at a Christian college we are more conservative in our dress, yet you better believe we still love leggings and tights, we just wear them better.. Haha okay maybe not, but we think so. Girls here like to wear leggings with skirts, dresses, some of the bolder girls will wear tights with shorts. This is the perfect solution for cold walks, it keeps your legs warm for the walk to class and you get to wear your favorite skirt or dress with comfort.

Something that is on the rise at HU is frumpy grandpa sweaters. This seems like a loose definition, yet it's accurate really. It is an over sized sweater that only your grandfather would like and pair that with a simple floppy hat and you've got a cute outfit. It also doesn't hurt that you can thrift these, nothing else beats clothes for 2 dollars!

The floppy hat is also something that as it gets colder you see all the time! They are everywhere. They are really cute and keep your ears warm. Not to mention you can crochet it yourself, or like I do ask your grandma to make you one!

So now you have it. College kids aren't really that fashionable we just wear what's convenient and comfortable while trying to stay sassy. Sometimes it works and other times not so much. But as I mentioned before if you look at people from a state school their wardrobe will look a lot different. Probably a lot more sequence, cleavage, and skin. But it's been my pleasure to share with you and a lot of fun, but it's almost finals week so I need to study! Thanks for reading!

I went black Friday shopping over the long 4 day weekend. Went to Target and Walmart Thursday night and left because I didn't want to wait in line. Went back Friday afternoon and picked up this cable knit sweater at Target for $12. I was so proud of myself for having control because usually I spend much more than $12!

How to get your Bachelor and your M.R.S degree at the same time!

Part 1

So when Stacia asked me to post I was super excited! I just started blogging in September and have really enjoyed it. That's also when I got hooked on free to be stacia lee, next thing I know I'm guest posting! So exciting!

Stacia asked if I could post about college fashion so I'll be giving some of our comfortable, yet cute solutions. Now I go to a Christian school in Indiana, so we're a little conservative, not so flashy and we NEVER know what the weather will be like so weather channel is bookmarked that way we know how to dress. I'm still an amateur so my pictures aren't the best, but hey I did what I could. And the girls in them are all girls from my school that I caught on campus! With that said, here we go!

We walk everywhere so foot function is critical! Flats and boots are our best friends right now, meaning everywhere we go, we are in comfortable flat shoes. I love how functional they are. On my blog I dedicated a whole post to boots alone, so we know I could go on and on. But one of my favorite styles of flats right now are oxfords. They look so cute! Also girls here are obsessed with fur lined boots. I.E. Uggs When the snow hits the ground you can bet they will not leave college girls feet, sometime you can even catch boys wearing them. They keep your tootsies super warm and dry for your long walk to class, and they don't look too shabby with a nice sweater or cardigan. Ankle boots were super big for fall. Every girl on campus would wear them with cute vests to walk across campus, but now that it is getting a bit colder they disappear more and more. Yet they look very cute when pulled out of the closet.

Leather boots are my personal favorite right now. (I just got some on Black Friday for Christmas) They add so much to a cute outfit and are really warm and comfortable. One of my favorite things about college is that you get to look at everyone around you's style and pull ideas from them, so needless to say I have seen some super cute boots and got myself a cute pair! Also what's great about school is that you automatically double your wardrobe when you get a roommate, not to mention multiply it by like 30 when you live on an all girls floor. It rocks!

A cute coat is what matters most right now. Personally when I walk to class is when I see the most amount of people therefore the most people see my outfit when I am walking to class. (You know Pythagorean theory.) This is really unfortunate because normally my outfit will be a good one and the only people who see it are those I am in class with. Because of this I have placed my investments into cute coats and so have other girls. By having an out of the box coat people automatically think you look cute. Then when your walking to class you don't feel like everyone is missing out on how much of a fashionista you are.

Another favorite is a headband. These are one of my favorite accessories. That way if I don't feel like I have all the time in the world I can do my hair simple and still make it look good quickly. Big, small, flower, or feather it doesn't matter, they rock!

I like to pair a headband with a cute scarf which is huge everywhere right now, not only cause it is getting cold, but because they are super cute. These are great for if you have early class and want to look cute without getting up with the roosters. I like to pair a patterned scarf with a plain v-neck or button down. Really you can't go wrong with a scarf, but honestly you can't.

What to Wear: Holiday Girls Night

Are you attending any Holiday parties this year? Of course you are! That's why I'm here! For the next few weeks I will be posting a what to wear series for several different Holiday gatherings. I'm starting with girls night Holiday get together. I meet up with my girlfriends Laura & Katie monthly and next week is our Holiday get together at one of our favorite local restaurants.

I have been eyeing up these boots for a few weeks.

Then I went back to the stores website today and saw that they are $20 off and free shipping.

Bonus.

So here are my new cognac leather boots and they will be arriving in a week or so.

So I may eat mac & cheese with hot dogs for a few meals, but hey isnt it worth it?!! I say yes. So lets mark this one off my list!!

If I happen to get Christmas $ this year I would definitely invest it into a pair of riding boots and a mustard sweater. Its nice having a list of wants and understanding that they are just that. So many times I have confused my wants and needs and understanding the difference has made my life so much easier. I have learned my needs are a warm home, gas and food. Wants are just items that are icing on top of the cake if allowed in the budget. :)

I have lived in Rossford for majority of my life and am so happy that there is finally a store right up my alley. Lalah V's is right on the main street in Rossford Ohio right next to the new Chinese restaurant. The prices are right and the selection is awesome.

This past weekend I picked up some new things from a surprise gift card I received. A trip to The Gap outlet was totally worth it. I picked up 2 skirts, this black sweater, black scarf and leather sandals for $32! The bonus part was the antique/fireworks store next store to The Gap. I picked up a vintage shoe advertisement for myself and a vintage TV tray for West. It was fun to go spend some $ and not leave feeling guilty for it! Ill be back tomorrow with a special shop local post on Lalah V's.
